2010 feiern wir den 150. Geburtstag Gustav Mahlers (er wurde am 7. Juli 1860 in Kalist, Böhmen, geboren). 2011 wollen wir uns seines 100. Todestages (am 18. Mai in Wien) erinnern.

Dieses Doppeljubiläums wird in Europa mit zahlreichen kulturellen Veranstaltungen gedacht werden. Die Summe dieser Initiativen soll ein größeres und reicheres Ganzes, ein Gesamtkonzept über die beiden Jubeljahre hinaus, ein Netzwerk „Mahler in Europa“ entstehen lassen.

Die Gustav Mahler Musikwochen Toblach wollen somit ihren Beitrag zu dieser Initiative leisten, indem wir hier unter dem Logo „The Mahler Connection“ die Entwicklung eines europäischen Netzwerkes unterstützen und dokumentieren. Darunter finden Sie zahlreiche Termine und Veranstaltungen, die mit uns anlässlich der beiden Jahre 2010 u. 2011 gemeinsam Gustav Mahler in den Fokus ihrer Aktivitäten stellen.

Nel 2010 festeggiamo il 150° compleanno di Gustav Mahler (nasce il 7 luglio 1860 a Kalist, Boemia). Nel 2011 ricorre il 100esimo anniversario della sua morte (il 18 luglio 1911 a Vienna).

Questi due anniversari vengono celebrati in tutta Europa con numerose iniziative culturali. E’ nostra intenzione dare il nostro contributo affinché la somma delle numerosi iniziative singole possano formare una rete più forte e ricca, capace di rimanere attiva anche oltre il 2011 come rete di iniziative “Mahler in Europa”.

Le Settimane Gustav Mahler Dobbiaco intendono sostenere e promuovere questa rete europea di iniziative. Sono elencate sotto il logo “The Mahler Connection” gli appuntamenti e gli eventi che negli anni 2010 e 2011 assieme a noi in tutta Europa porranno l’arte e l’artista Gustav Mahler al centro della loro attività.

In 2010 we celebrate Gustav Mahler’s 150th birthday (he was born in Kalist, Bohemia, 7th July 1860). The year 2011 reminds us of Mahler’s death (Vienna 18th May 1911).

This double jubilee will be celebrated throughout Europe with various cultural events. The sum of all of these initiatives will be a big and complex project aimed at creating a network “Mahler in Europe” which will operate also in the years beyond those two jubilee years.
